Dictionary Help

We have designed the online dictionary so that it is both simple and fast to use.

Classic or Interactive?

We suggest you use the classic dictionary when you want to translate a precise word, and the interactive dictionary when you want to browse the dictionary in a way closer to what you would get with a paper dictionary. For example, you might want to use the interactive dictionary for discovering new terms or to verify the spelling of a word.

Shortcuts

All the functions of the dictionary are accessible by their shortcut. Changes are further persistent accross visits.

Accents

French accents are ignored to make searching for French words easier for those with a US/UK keyboard. So for example, searches for énergie and energie will both lead to energy.

Additions and Corrections

New words are frequently added by Sylang translators. However, if you find a missing word or an error, please .
